ABOUT SCHOOL
The School Drumalayam was officially started on 26th October 2001. This School trains children and individuals of all age groups beginning right from the age of 3. The youngest students here are four, while the oldest is fifty years old.
Pre-KG way of training is given to the small children and rhythm is taught orally so that they understand better. Small instruments like Bongo, Tambourine, etc. are also used for the beats.
During stage performances different varieties of rhythms are performed like the Basket Ball Rhythm, Train Sounds and to add color even vessels are used to perform can excellent Rhythm pattern.
The first live performance for these kids was their first anniversary in Oct 2002 at The Mahodaya Hall, where the sole aim was to present to the parents a sample of what their children had been learning. But this show was a super success and there has been no looking back for Gopal and his children (as he calls them) evershine. They were invited immediately to perform at GRT Grand Days for a special Christmas show organized exclusively for orphan children. These children have also performed on Jaya TV on Pongal (2002).
This school holds the pride of training Siddharth Nagarajan, a 6 year old who has entered the Limca Book of Records 2003 as Youngest Drummer of India.
